So what can you use them for?
Our personalised wine labels are ideal for corporate gifts (think of them as a delicious business card), weddings (for bonbonniere and as a great value and unique offering at the table), birthdays (a fun talking point at the party), fundraising (click here for more info) or even if you just want to pretend you own a winery! (and considerably less expensive)!
Firstly, what does it cost?
Personalised labels for our wine are $15 per dozen on top of the cost of the wine. This includes our template design, setup, printing and label application – there are no extra fees involved.
For labels only we charge a setup for of $30 for each label, in addition to $15 per dozen for our template design setup and printing.
So how do I go about doing it?
- Select your design from the examples above or from our personalised label shop, here.
- Attach a photograph, logo or other artwork to an email along with the text you’d like on the label. (make sure you send decent size images in jpg, tiff, pdf or eps files, set your scanner for 300dpi resolution).
- Select your wine at The Wine Point Online Shop.
- We’ll send you a draft with your final label design.

What size are the labels?
The most common size we use is 7 x 10 cm label, this size can be used in both portrait and landscape and covers all bottle sizes, be it tall Riesling styles bottles, squat Pinot Noir bottles and even half bottles. We also use 8 x 10, 8 x 8 and 12 x 10 (which will not fit all bottle shapes). In saying that, we can use pretty much any size; email us here if you have any questions.
What if i don't like The Wine Point's label templates?
We're cool with that, if you've got an idea of what you want then send us your image/ logo and text and we'll get a single draft to you. We reserve the right to charge you for further design work, or you could always design it yourself and upload it via our Custom Wine Label Builder tool
Can I design the label myself?
Of course! You have two options.
1. Send us your artwork (as a pdf or eps please, with all fonts outlined ). Label size is up to you, but you might want to check the bottle shape with us to make sure the label will fit. You should also include the legal text - alcohol content, std drinks etc. (you’ll find this on the wine listing) or let us know and well send you the necessary specs.
2. Try out our new Custom Wine Label Builder tool and purchase immediately online.
Does the wine information have to be on the labels too?
In a word, yes. We can’t send out wine without the legal details of alcohol content, standard drinks and additives. All our wines labels also include our web address.
I don’t have any software to crop photographs?
There’s some great websites that you can use to crop images, even design entire labels. Our favourite is www.aviary.com. Go there, let your imagination loose then send us the finished artwork to print.
Is there a restriction on the colours I can use?
No, there is no restriction, though printing is digital so while we cannot guarantee exact colour replicas the representation is always very precise. If sending your own artwork please save it as CMYK files.
What is the minimum order?
Minimum order is a dozen bottles. These need to be in staight (not mixed) dozens. Yes, the labels get a bit cheaper, if you order a decent amount.
Can I order a mixed dozen?
No, I’m afraid orders need to be in dozen lots please. (hmmm, didn't we just say that...)
What about single bottles?
Generally that's a no, but if you're desperate then email us and we'll come up with a price.
How long does it take?
Only a couple days, as long as the wine is in stock, sometimes quicker if you ask us nicely. We'll let you know if there's going to be a delay. Expect it to take a bit longer around Christmas time. And best to let us know if you’re in a hurry.
Can i see a hard copy of the label before printing?
Sure, but the is a charge involved to setup, print and post.
What text can I have on the label?
Anything really, as long as it fits on the label, isn’t illegal or particularly offensive. We actively encourage tacky if that’s your thing .
What about fonts?
If you have a specific font you’d like to use, ask us we might have it, or send it with your order (as PC, not MAC friendly files please)
