Red Wine and Cheese

Indulging in a glass of red wine accompanied by a selection of delectable cheeses is not just a pleasurable experience for the senses; we have, perhaps somewhat dodgy proof that it is good for you!

We know that red wine is high in antioxidants. So is cheddar, Gouda, and Parmesan.

Resveratrol, found in red grapes and consequently red wine, has been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease. Additionally, the polyphenols in red wine and the high levels of calcium and fatty acids in certain cheeses, like Swiss and feta, have been linked to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Resveratrol in red wine demonstrated neuroprotective effects, promoting brain health and potentially reducing the risk of disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

That and both taste great (and the little buzz ain’t bad either) so that’s got to improve your quality of life. So, we recommend a cheese platter and a bottle of red. One of ours especially, from our range here or with a label personalised just for you!
